Heritable disorders of connective tissue, including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD), are increasingly recognized as important clinical conditions—but they remain significantly under-recognized in everyday medical practice.

This talk will help physicians recognize when “being flexible” is more than a benign trait and understand the broader clinical picture that can accompany hypermobility. We will explore practical approaches to identifying patients with hEDS/HSD, distinguishing clinically significant hypermobility from incidental findings, and managing the multisystem manifestations that can impact quality of life.
