2026 Endeavor Health APP Mini-CME Event

This event is a half-day medical conference designed to provide clinical and pertinent adjunct information to the APP in order to improve the medical knowledge base, provide updates in clinical care standards, and overall enhance the learning and knowledge of APP attendees. The diverse content will enhance understanding of rebelant APP practice issues and enable individuals to apply information learned to their own practice. 

1. Differentiate the clinical presentations of four acute abdominal surgical emergencies across diverse patient populations and practice settings
2. Determine which acute abdominal presentations require urgent surgical consultation versus observation, medical management, or outpatient evaluation
3. Integrate pertinent history, physical examination, laboratory, and imaging findings to assess clinical urgency and guide appropriate management of patients presenting with acute abdominal conditions
4. Assess atypical and high-risk presentations of acute abdominal emergencies in older adults, pregnant patients, and medically complex patients to inform timely diagnosis and management
5. Initiate timely escalation of care to the surgical team and communicate the clinical findings and diagnostic information necessary to support an effective surgical consultation
6. Select appropriate indications for plain radiography in the evaluation of patients with suspected acute abdominal conditions
7. Select CT, MRI, or other appropriate imaging modalities based on the clinical presentation, diagnostic question, and patient-specific considerations
8. Compare the benefits, limitations, and patient-specific considerations of contrast-enhanced MRI and contrast-enhanced CT when selecting diagnostic imaging
9. Evaluate current evidence regarding the performance of artificial intelligence relative to clinicians and identify limitations that affect its appropriate use in clinical practice
10. Apply practical strategies for the responsible use of generative AI and clinical prediction models, including effective case querying, interpretation of model-generated risk estimates, verification of outputs, and mitigation of automation-related skill degradation
11. Apply the concepts of Baumol’s cost disease and Jevons’ paradox to evaluate how the evolution of the role of an APP
