Overview
As of March 2020, more than 100,000 novel coronavirus cases have been confirmed globally. With the continued spread of this pandemic, prevention and treatment of the disease have become urgent tasks. The drugs and vaccines currently being developed are not adequate to deal with this critical situation. Besides controlling the disease through effective isolation, a rapid response from healthcare and biotechnology industries is required to accelerate the treatment. By reviewing the currently available literature published in the U.S. and abroad, providers can summarize the current research progress of drug treatment and vaccine applicability during the pandemic period. The effectiveness and safety of the various drug therapies needs to be confirmed by additional research and clinical studies and will likely continually change and evolve as more is learned about this disease. This journal activity is designed to review literature regarding the latest findings on vaccines and drug therapies for Covid-19.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this enduring activity, participants should be able to:

  1. 1. Describe the research progress and vaccine development of drugs in the treatment of Covid-19.
  2. 2. Analyze the safety and efficacy of the BNT162b2 mRNA and Chad0x1 nCoV019 Vaccines.
  3. 3. Identify potential vaccine antibody responses for the Covid-19 Coronavirus based on preliminary studies.
  4. 4. Explain the process of educating patients on expectations after COVID-19 vaccination and the role of the physician in monitoring the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.
  5. 5. Review how to report adverse side effects in patients.
