2021 EDW Multidisciplinary GI/General Tumor Board (RSS)

Use the black Schedule button to register for RSS Activities.  This can be done all at once through the end of the year, per month, or per activity.  It is important to register to ensure that your name is associated with the activity. 

Recording your attendance for RSS Activities can be done in three ways:  QR Code scan through the CloudCME® app, SMS Text to (630) 835-0554 using the code provided by the activity planner, or using the Claim Credit using the app and entering the code.  Be sure a mobile # is included in your CloudCME® profile so that you are able to SMS text your attendance without incident.

The Cancer Committee offers case conferences to improve the care of patients with cancer by providing multidisciplinary treatment planning and contributing to provider medical staff education. Studies have reported significant changes in diagnosis and treatment plans by facilitating multidisciplinary tumor boards. Tumor boards allow for implementation of clinical practice guidelines and help capture cases for clinical trials. Studies also show that training of multidisciplinary teams led to better team dynamics and communication, improved patient satisfaction, and improved clinical outcomes. This activity offers providers an opportunity to further enhance knowledge and expertise based on gastrointestinal (GI) tumor case studies.

1. 1. Analyze selected gastrointestinal (GI) tumor cases to determine appropriate treatment and follow-up.
2. 2. Describe the utilization of recent advances from screening through treatment options for gastrointestinal (GI) cancer patients.
3. 3. Incorporate principles learned in the subsequent care of patients and state clinical staging for each new gastrointestinal (GI) tumor case.
