2026 EMH ED Simulation: Newborn Assessment and Ventilation

Emergency Medicine Providers may not be familiar with new 9th edition Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) best practice guidelines, released October 2025. This latest edition reflects the most current updates in neonatal resuscitation science and aligns with the 2025 American Heart Association (AHA) / American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Neonatal Guidelines. This educational activity is specifically designed to introduce recent changes to NRP guidelines and reintroduce functionalities of the infant radiant warmer.

1. Implement new Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) 9th edition best practice guidelines for a newborn requiring ventilation support.
2. Operate the PANDA infant warmer to support care of a newborn.
3. Prepare for advanced airway or airway adjunct (i.e. laryngeal mask airway) for newborn requiring ventilation support.
