Overview
This morbidity and mortality case review reviews specific cardiovascular cases from Edward Hospital to determine best practices, clinical approaches, and appropriate valve characteristics for optimal patient outcomes. The cases present disciplinary problems for which learners devise solutions under facilitation of the primary planner or physician facilitator. This approach utilizes collaborative learning, facilitates the integration of learning among multidisciplinary teams, encourages learner self-reflection, allows for scientific inquiry, integrates knowledge and practice, and supports the development of a variety of skills while optimizing patient outcomes through a team approach.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Analyze the treatment of aortic stenosis and its different presentations.
  2. Identify opportunities for improvement related to the care associated with the diagnosis of aortic stenosis.
  3. Critically analyze the management of identified Edward Hospital TAVR cases to improve health outcomes.
