2021 Program & Education Committee - 5/13/2021

Thursday, May 13, 2021, 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM, Edw Ed Ctr - E305/306 (3rd Floor), Naperville, IL

The Program & Education Committee review the CME programs that are sponsored by Edward-Elmhurst Health or any Joint Providerships with Edward-Elmhurst Health to ensure that ISMS/ACCME guidelines, documentation, evaluation, and requirements are followed by all programs, program planners, and meeting coordinators.  The committee provides feedback and guidance to the CME staff on programs, scientific content, and process issues.  The committee also helps to identify speakers for new or proposed programs sponsored by the institution.  The Program & Education committee reviews the content of each program application, determines approval status, and provide feedback on objectives and content. The committee also provides developmental assistance to the planners in areas of educational process, types of formats which have proven successful, topics of interest for discussion, and framework; review the needs assessments and program evaluations and uses the data in planning future programs, identifying speakers, setting up content, and bridging the gaps.  The Program & Education Committee also assists the CME Committee Chair and CME Department Manager in providing the needed data, guidance, and feedback in preparing progress reports and annual summary for accreditation/ reaccreditation and serves as a resource for best practices in program creation to others.

1. Review applications submitted to the committe for credit.
2. Discuss objective and suggest edits as needed to comply with CME accreditation requirements.
3. Determine appropriateness of CME activity according to ISMS/ACCME standards.
